MISSION VALLEY — Hula skirts, Mai Tais and surf bands once again took over the Crowne Plaza in Mission Valley as the retro celebration known as Tiki Oasis returned to San Diego for its eighth year.
“It’s like the Comic-Con of Tiki,” said vendor Bosko Hrnjak, an Escondido resident largely credited with helping revive Tiki culture.
