Nelson Mandela memorial: Michelle Obama looks furious as Barack poses for pictures with attractive Danish PM

He may be the president of the most powerful nation in the world - but that doesn't stop Barack Obama from getting the cold shoulder off his wife.
The US President was pictured at Nelson Mandela's memorial today sat next to the blonde Danish PM Helle Thorning-Schmidt .
The pair appeared to be getting on well, with Mr Obama smiling broadly and patting Ms Thorning-Schmidt on the shoulder.
But this did not appear to go down well with Mrs Obama, who looked less than impressed with her husband.

Weighing Choice for Fed, Obama Offers His Party a Defense of Summers

Facing dissent from Congressional Democrats, President Obama on Wednesday offered a strong defense of his potential choice of Lawrence H. Summers to head the Federal Reserve, though he said no final selection had been made.
For the first time, he offered up the names of three possible successors to the current Fed chairman, Ben S. Bernanke: Mr. Summers, a former senior economic adviser to the president; Janet L. Yellen, the Fed’s vice chairwoman; and Donald L. Kohn, a former Fed vice chairman. Mr. Obama said he would probably make the decision this fall.

Initial reaction from Capitol Hill Republicans was chilly. A spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner said that the expected proposal is “leaving small businesses and American families behind.”
