Why Shailene Woodley Doesn't Have a Cell Phone

Shailene Woodley isn't your typical Hollywood star, and you definitely won't be seeing her buried in her cell phone anytime soon. In a recent interview with the Daily Beast, the "Divergent" star said that she -- GASP! -- doesn't own a cell phone. The 23-year–old explained, "I'm not a big technology person. I don't even have a smartphone. I don't even have a cell phone! And if I were to have one, it would be a flip phone."

Sheryl Sandberg on why you should never call your daughter bossy

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg's book Lean In sparked a major national conversation on women and leadership in the workplace. The technology executive also set up a nonprofit, Lean In, to help women strengthen their workplace confidence and skills by convening in Lean In Circles with trusted peers. One year later, Lean In has teamed up with the Girl Scouts to launch a public service campaign, Ban Bossy, to encourage everyone to think twice about using a word that Sandberg says teaches women to hold themselves back. Sandberg talked to Yahoo News about the new initiative promoting a vision of girls and women as leaders — and why she wants to ban the word “bossy.”

Technology Is Interfering With Your Doctor's Visit - And It's Driving Physicians Crazy

In a recent Rand study commissioned by the American Medical Association, doctors said being able to provide high quality healthcare is the primary driver of their satisfaction. However, the study also found the number of factors contributing to dissatisfaction is becoming almost insurmountable.
Electronic health records (EHRs), widely touted as technological tools to improve patient care, have in fact increased physicians’ workloads and administrative burdens. Additionally, as revealed in that same Rand study, physicians complained that their digital record systems are interfering with face-to-face encounters with their patients. Physicians recognize the over-hyped promise of EHRs – having relevant patient data at the time of visit – and the reality of incomplete information because lab, x-ray, and pharmacy systems are not interoperable.
