MENLO PARK -- Some Facebook
users will see video commercials Thursday that start playing
automatically when users scroll through their usual stream of posts and
updates from friends, the social networking company said Tuesday.
But
the commercials won't make a sound unless a user taps or clicks on
them. Facebook is hoping to strike a balance as it seeks to launch what
could be a new, multibillion-dollar advertising business -- without
annoying users or packing their News Feeds with loud and obnoxious
